It is constructed with a seven to nine-ply cross-laminated lay-up of Canadian maple. Though other materials like fiberglass, bamboo, resin, Kevlar, carbon fiber, aluminum, and plastic are also used for deck construction in order to lighten and increase its strength and rigidity.

Most common sizes of Skateboard Deck are 7 to 10.5 inches wide and 28 to 33 inches long. The underside of the deck can be printed with a design by the manufacturer, blank or decorated by any other means.
